FAQs

How Do We Define Natural?

Our products are handcrafted with natural ingredients including botanicals, clays, teas, essential oils, & goat's milk.   We never use harsh detergents, fragrances, alcohol, or synthetic ingredients that can irritate skin. We like to keep things simple.

What Makes Glycerin Soaps Different?

Glycerin is a humectant, a type of moisturizing agent that pulls water into the outer layer of your skin from deeper levels of your skin & the air. According to a 2016 study, "glycerin is “the most effective humectant” available to increase hydration on the top layer of your skin". (1,2)

Studies also show that skincare products containing glycerin can significantly soften & improve the appearance of rough, dry skin, while giving the skin a fuller, firmer appearance. (3)  With science in mind, each of our handcrafted soap bars are made with glycerin.

What Is the Difference Between Fragrance Oils & Essential Oils?

"The main difference between fragrance oils and essential oils is that fragrance oils are manufactured in a lab and essential oils are made of natural materials."(1) Because essential oils are organic rather than synthetically made, their scents may be less strong and last for a shorter period of time compared to lab made fragrances. "Many industries use synthetic fragrances that are developed in a laboratory to mimic the aromatic and chemical constituents of natural, plant-based oils that are more expensive to manufacture. Nevertheless, synthetic fragrances may not contain the beneficial aspects of natural plant-based essential oils and could even be unsafe for human applications."(2)
